As a Celebration Volunteer with Hospice Community Care, you will help patients celebrating milestones such as birthdays or wedding anniversaries or recognize veterans on Veteran's Day. You, as a Celebration Volunteer with Hospice Community Care will take a special treat to patients on their "big day" to let them know our hospice team is thinking of them because who doesn't like a celebration?!!!

You, as a Hospice Community Care Celebration Volunteer will provide a comforting presence while celebrating with and visiting patients. Because of the ongoing nature of this exciting hospice volunteer opportunity, you must be willing to travel anywhere within Hospice Community Care's 50-mile service area. Hospice Community Care will provide the treats our Celebration Volunteers will deliver to our patients (there is no gas allowance or mileage reimbursement offered.) You don't have to be a great singer but you must feel comfortable singing "Happy Birthday" to celebrating patients.

Celebration Volunteers must have a clean driving record, proof of current auto insurance and a current driver's license. A Celebration Volunteer will need to take a TB test offered by Hospice Community Care and attend training.

SKILLS REQUIRED:


You must be compassionate, fun-loving, friendly and understand and believe in hospice philosophy. Celebration Volunteers must keep and maintain confidences in accordance with HIPAA. You must be comfortable making small talk with strangers. You must recognize that in your role as a Celebration Volunteer you make a vital contribution to the overall well-being of the patients with which you will interact. You must take initiative at times and always see projects through until the end.

Description

Hospice Community Care has been providing excellent end-of-life services for Richmond area residents and their families since 2004.

Hospice Community Care uses an interdisciplinary team approach to provide quality hospice services to patients and families throughout our service area. Hospice Community Care has become the hospice provider of choice because of our reputation for impeccable customer service, friendly, knowledgeable and comforting staff, and unique delivery methods that meet the medical, physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of our patients and their loved ones.

It would be impossible to meet all of the needs of our patients and their loved ones were it not for our exemplary volunteers who donate hundreds of hours of their gift of time every year. We have several exciting opportunities to offer people who are considering volunteering with hospice.

Volunteers must have a current driver's license and auto insurance as well as a clean driving records. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. We will train you for the volunteer position that best suits you.
