Founded in 1933, the International Rescue Committee is a leading humanitarian non-profit organization providing relief to refugees and victims of oppression or violent conflict. The IRC in Turlock/Modesto serves refugees, asylees, and immigrants in the San Joaquin Valley. A committed staff of professionals and volunteers provide essential case management and immigration services to immigrant families, providing them with the resources and tools to rebuild their lives with safety and dignity.
SCOPE OF VOLUNTEER WORK:
Workshop volunteers directly assist clients with completing their citizenship applications (N-400) and fee waiver (I-912) or reduced fee (I-942) forms.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
- Attend a comprehensive training session
- Prepare naturalization applications and fee waivers or reduced fee forms on behalf of refugees, asylees, and immigrants for submission to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)
REQUIREMENTS:
We require that candidates have the following qualities:
- Good communication skills
- Possess a great attention to detail
- An interest in immigration or naturalization

Description
At work in more than 40 countries and 29 U.S. cities to restore safety, dignity and hope, the IRC leads the way from harm to home. The IRC's local offices in Turlock and Modesto operate several highly effective programs to meet a wide variety of refugee newcomers' needs. Our offices ensure new arrivals have food, shelter, and clothing, and we work with refugees to help them gain self-sufficiency through English language classes, job readiness training and civics services. This year, the IRC in Turlock will resettle refugees from Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran and Syria among other countries.
