A hospice volunteer serves as a friend/companion to hospice patients and their families. Volunteers work in conjunction with the hospice team to provide supportive services. Volunteers provide companionship to patients, providing family care takers with a moment of respite. Many of our volunteers enjoy engaging patients in conversation, playing card games, music, meditation, art, reading, and more. Our volunteers are trained to help in many settings including a patient's home, nursing facility, and assisted living facility.
