Endless Journey seeks Direct Companion volunteers to regularly visit our patients in Omaha and surrounding counties of Douglas, Lancaster, Dodge, Saunders, Cass, Sarpy, Otoe, Burt and Washington. Volunteers are essential in providing a companion for persons who may feel lonely as they approach the end of life. Oftentimes, family who wishes they lived closer feel much better in the process if they know their loved one had a special friend who was available to listen on their good days or to simply sit in supportive presence on the not-so-great days. Volunteers need no special skills other than the ability to be present to others in this special time of their life. That said, volunteers have been essential in their presence. Stories abound of how the volunteer was the right person at the right time. For example, - one hospice volunteer helped the patient write letters to her adult children. No sooner were they in the mail than she passed away - so the letters arrived as if a love note from heaven. We can accommodate all schedules - visits can happen during the weekday, weekends and evenings. Training is provided

The Endless Journey hospice experience will encompass the holistic philosophy in that the client and their family will be nourished physically, emotionally and spiritually as they prepare for the end of life and beyond.
Endless Journey Hospice LLC is an independent, locally owned and operated hospice established in Omaha to serve the Omaha and Lincoln areas with an alternative for end of life care unlike those currently offered by the medical field. The primary objective is to empower clients and the community through education and to offer holistic interventions to provide comfort and dignity throughout the dying process. Endless Journey embraces the client and their loved ones as they approach the exhaustion of effective aggressive treatment by offering emotional support and education related to disease process and treatment options to improve quality of life. Like all hospices, we provide services to clients wherever they live. This is provided through the traditional hospice team of nurses, health aids, chaplains, social workers, and volunteers in addition to a broad array of holistic providers and a full-time nutritionist.
