Volunteer Caseworkers Needed for Military Families!
ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross of Northern California Coastal Region
Please visit the new page to apply.
The American Red Cross provides a worldwide system of emergency related services to members of the military and their families. These services include:
- A global communication network for services members and their families suffering a family crisis.
- Verification of emergencies to assist military commanders in making informed decisions regarding regular and/or emergency leave.
- Access to after-hours financial assistance (AER, etc)
- Confidential counseling, information and referral.
The American Red Cross found that many military families do not know about Red Cross services to military personnel. In an effort to educate these family members, the Get to Know Us program is implemented at MEPS. The Red Cross also offers counseling, information, referrals and other social services to military familiesWe need volunteers to ensure that military families know they are supported during the critical times of entering the military and preparing for deployment. Ensure family information is in Red Cross case management system, and email/phone military families to provide Red Cross preparedness information.
This is a flexible opportunity and can be done at the office or remotely. Volunteers are needed 2-3 hours per week. **Note: also looking for fluent Spanish speakers**
