Through Junior Achievement curriculum, 2nd graders will learn career awareness through learning about their community. The program walks through the variety of jobs in a community, how money is earned and circulates through a community and how voting effects a community. Other topics include: taxes, goods and services, production, government and innovation.
Volunteer does not need to have a background in career training or finances, just needs to have basic reading and writing skills! All materials come prepacked and the Junior Achievement Staff will train the volunteer through the lessons and materials in our office during volunteer orientation. Commitment is 5 hours, which is broken down throughout a month or semester. Each lesson is approximately an hour long.
*All volunteers fill out volunteer conduct forms and may undergo a background check.
