A Little Help connects neighbors to help seniors thrive. We provide older adults with essential services that promote independence and support social and cognitive engagement so they may enjoy improved quality of life within community.

A Little Help is looking for volunteers to serve on a Care Team, where they will help grow A Little Help in the community, working hand in hand with other Site Team members and A Little Help staff.

Based on your interests, some of the things you’ll be doing as a Care Team Volunteer include:

  • Conducting Warm Welcome visits for new members
  • Provide ongoing isolation-fighting communication with Members by phone, engaging in ongoing Care Calls
  • Assist in connecting volunteers with member requests (aka volunteer opportunities)
  • Reporting back to Site Team Chair

A successful Community Outreach Volunteer will have the following characteristics:

  • Commitment to the A Little Help model and village concept
  • Compassion and interest in chatting with older adults
  • Ability to work autonomously and in partnership with the Site Team
  • Effective communicator

Description

The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Volunteers of America provides volunteer opportunities for individuals 55 years and older to use their skills, insight and lifetime experiences to assist residents and non-profit agencies in the county. RSVP also offers a variety of programs which provide services and enhance the quality of life for seniors.
