ORGANIZATION: Volunteers of America Northern Colorado Services

The Matthews House works to empower youth and families by building trusting relationships and providing resources to disrupt the cycles of poverty and abuse. One of the ways this mission is accomplished is through experiential education activities that are offered each week. Volunteers are needed to help with these sessions and to be a positive role model for the youth attending the sessions.

Examples of the experiential education activities include: Guys Group or Girls Group (participants engage in an activity aimed at increasing independent living skills and discuss topics surrounding character and what it means to be a successful in today's world), Open Gym (active time for hacky sack, football, groundies, etc.), improv and art classes, martial arts, fishing and more!

If you are interested in helping with and experiential education session or if you are interested in volunteering as a mentor, let us know and we'll help you get involved!
