Volunteer to be a part of a great community event that supports women's track and field.

Two-Time Olympian and Head Track and Field Coach at San Diego State has done an excellent job engaging and gaining the support of the local San Diego Community with this event, that we no host over 2000 competitors over a three day competition

We are looking for individuals to volunteer in 3-4 hour shifts, March 21-23 at the 41st Annual SDSU Track and Field Invitational.

Experience watching some of the country's top Division-1, High School, Para-Olympic, Junior College and International athletes compete in various track and event events.

Taller Volunteers can assist with High Jump and Pole Vault.
Stronger athletic volunteers can assist with Long Jump or Triple Jump.
Volunteer Hospitality and check in assistance is needed.
Brave Volunteers can assist with competition Javelin and Discus measuring and retrieval.
Volunteers who like to see people run really fast can assist with the 100m/110m hurdles.
More sedentary volunteers who enjoy being outdoors can assist with record keeping.

In 2018 we had 60 plus volunteers, in 2019 we are looking for 80 volunteers.

Our goal is to expose the community to the sport or track and field, support students and athletes who may one day be our future Olympians.

All Volunteers will receive the following:

  1. TWO (2) tickets to a 2019 San Diego State Football Game.
  2. Runner's shoe/spike bag.
  3. Volunteer T-Shirt - Sponsored by Mondo
  4. Refreshments and Snacks throughout the day
  5. Parking Permit

Description

Women's Track and Field: Our goal is to engage and expose the community to SDSU athletics beyond football and basketball each year by hosting an annual Aztec Track and Field Invitational. The three-day competition, which will take place from March 21-23, will once again feature some of the top collegiate teams and athletes in the country.

The Aztec Invitational will also include open, invitational, Paralympic and high school competition. The entire meet will take place at the Aztrack on the SDSU Sports Deck.

The Aztec Invitational will host some of the best teams on the West Coast and numerous Division I schools, including Oregon, UCLA, Kansas State, Arizona, Wisconsin, Utah, Brigham Young, Air Force, Grand Canyon, UC Santa Barbara, UC San Diego, and Loyola Marymount. Additionally, many of the area's universities, junior colleges and high schools are expected to join the competition.
