ORGANIZATION: The Salvation Army/ Boys & Girls Club of Metro Tulsa

At one of our 6 Boys and Girls Clubs around the area, afterschool children are seeking help with their homework and reading skills. The volunteer must be a good role model, be sensitive to the needs of youth and have an abundance of patience. We are seeking volunteers 1 hour a week, 1 day a week until the end of the semester.
A volunteer will:
Assist children in learning the basics of reading, English and math
Help children with their homework
Promote a greater self-sufficiency among the youth
assist children who have delayed learning.

Often referred to as "the army behind The Army," volunteers play a crucial role The Salvation Army's ability to provide quality social services for the entire community.

Volunteers are valuable assets in The Salvation Army's and Boys & Girls Club of Metro Tulsa efforts to meet the changing needs of our world. Through the skills and experience they bring to The Army, volunteers make significant contributions to society by positively impacting the lives of those they assist. Our volunteers change lives!
