Kick a ball, play games, and make a difference to Arlington youth!

4-H is looking for volunteers to help run a fall Girls With Goals Club. Partnering with Arlington County Public School's Extended Day and the Arlington Soccer Association, volunteers will work together to lead six, one-hour soccer practices.

Each lesson will start with a character-building game to reinforce sportsmanship and teamwork. Then the group will play soccer games and develop their skills.

The goal of this program is to promote physical fitness, build sportsmanship, and break down the transportation barrier that prevents some youth from playing soccer.

The program will run at an elementary school in Arlington--we're still deciding on a specific site. Sessions run for six consecutive weeks, one day a week, from approximately 3:30-4:30pm. Training is provided!

Volunteers should be over 16 years old and excited to work with young children, play soccer, and have fun. You must be able to provide your own transportation to the sites. You don't have to be a soccer star to be a wonderful volunteer--we will teach you what you need to know! Volunteers over 18 will be required to undergo a background screening.

If you're interested, please contact 4-H Extension Agent Caitlin Verdu at cverdu@vt.edu for the volunteer application and additional information. We look forward to working with you!
