We are looking for friendly and outgoing volunteers to engage garden visitors with our mobile plant exlploration cart. We want to enrich our visitor's garden visits with fun hands-on activities and learning experiences, to show them more about the plant world around them. The cart will be moved to different popular plant areas to engage the public.
Volunteers are needed during MCPS Spring Break on April 17-19 from 10am-2pm
Volunteers will transport the Plant Exploration Station to and from garden areas
-Engage visitors about specific themes
-Assist with hands-on activities
-Answer questions from the public.
Volunteers must be able to push and pull the 50-pound cart, walk at least a quarter mile, and be on their feet for at least two hours at a time.

Our agency is located just north of Washington D.C., and was originally created to protect the stream valleys around the D.C. area. We have grown into a 34,000 acre park system with over 400 local, urban and regional parks; recreation centers; ballfields; playgrounds; nature centers, a botanic garden and over 200 miles of trails.
