We would like to find a dedicated volunteer (or multiple depending on how many hours one would like to work) to support our Social Services & Administration Office. The volunteer would sit in the entry and receive all visitors and clients that come to our facility. Would be responsible for signing clients in for that days available services or referring them to come at another time or scheduling appointments depending on the clients need. Volunteer would be asked to collect necessary information from clients to prepare them for their visit with the Social Worker. Volunteer may also be asked to help in the food pantry preparing food orders for clients or various other clerical tasks as requested by the Social Worker or Corps Officer. All matters will need to be kept in complete confidence.

Mission Statement

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. It's mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Description

The Salvation Army offers a variety of services. We are a church, with worship services on Sunday and youth character building programs and adult ministries throughout the week. We operate a family store that sells donated items which support our social service programs. Our social service department has a food pantry, offers utility assistance & clothing vouchers just to name a few services available to the community. Many other services are offered on a case by case and need basis as well as referrals made to other agencies when needed. Clients taking advantage of Our Path Way of Hope Program will work one on one with our Social Worker as she offers support and guidance in getting their life back on track. We also facilitate holiday assistance with food baskets during Easter, Thanksgiving &Christmas. In addition to food baskets, at Christmas we provide over a 1,000 children a year with gifts through the Angel Tree program.
