ORGANIZATION: Meals on Wheels of Southwest OH & Northern KY

Meal drivers deliver nutritious meals on wheels to our clients in the Greater Cincinnati Area! These clients have difficulty preparing meals due to medical conditions and physical restraints.

Volunteers support the meals program by covering absentee routes (drivers of routes are typically out sick, on medical leave, vacations, etc.). Routes are usually completed within four - six hours, and mileage is reimbursed.

This opportunity is available Tuesdays and Thursdays, volunteers can pick up meals at 9:00 a.m. Routes are throughout the Hamilton County area but will be assigned by neighborhood.

*Holiday meal drivers help deliver meals to seniors before the holidays to ensure our seniors are fed.

Description

Meals on Wheels of Southwest OH & Northern KY provides Meals-On-Wheels, medical and specialized transportation, and independent living assistance services to seniors and disabled individuals in Greater Cincinnati and surrounding areas. Our programs also include Pet Portions, which provides free food to our clients cats and dogs, and PetKare, which provides clients with vouchers to be used at local select veterinary facilities for their pet's care. Meals on Wheels of Southwest OH & Northern KY also partners with more than 60 WesleyLinks churches to help seniors in their congregations secure information and services that will help them stay in their homes as long as possible.
