ORGANIZATION: Meals on Wheels of Southwest OH & Northern KY

Hot weather is a real danger, especially to seniors. Elderly heat stroke and heat exhaustion are a serious problem for the elderly for a number of reasons. In a recent University of Chicago Medical Center study, 40% of heat-related fatalities in the U.S. were among people over 65.

Help us keep seniors cool this spring/summer by donating a fan or organizing a fan drive!

Whats needed:
A place to collect fans
Flyers (Wesley can provide these)
Advertisement - this can be as simple as spreading the flyer through your agency/business, hanging flyers in your community, etc.
The fans could be dropped off or Wesley can arrange to have the fans picked up in one of our vehicles

To foster and support seniors who seek to stay in their homes as long as possible through the provision of essential home-based services.

Description

Meals on Wheels of Southwest OH & Northern KY provides Meals-On-Wheels, medical and specialized transportation, and independent living assistance services to seniors and disabled individuals in Greater Cincinnati and surrounding areas. Our programs also include Pet Portions, which provides free food to our clients cats and dogs, and PetKare, which provides clients with vouchers to be used at local select veterinary facilities for their pet's care. Meals on Wheels of Southwest OH & Northern KY also partners with more than 60 WesleyLinks churches to help seniors in their congregations secure information and services that will help them stay in their homes as long as possible.
