Special Olympics Southern California’s (SOSC) vision is to promote acceptance, inclusion, and well-being for people with intellectual disabilities through sports. Not only is Special Olympics the world’s largest sports organization for people with intellectual disabilities, Special Olympics is also the world’s largest public health organization for people with intellectual disabilities, providing access to free health services for a population with significant, unmet health needs. Healthy Athletes provides information and resources that support athletes in realizing sustainable, healthy and productive lives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with recruitment, scheduling, and other related logistics for Healthy Athletes and Team Wellness volunteers, as well as the tracking and reporting of volunteer involvement
  • Analyze new data trends in volunteer database to help us share our impact
  • Data entry, filing, copying files, analysis reports
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of Healthy Athlete promotional materials
  • Assist in planning and implementation of Healthy Athletes at regional and chapter events

  • • Attendance at regional/chapter events is required • 10-15 hours/week at the HQ office
  • • Strong organizational, people, and customer service skills • Ability to work independently and in a team environment • High proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook and ability to learn new programs • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects
