Literacy Volunteers of Somerset County (LVSC) is holding its 8th Annual Fall Soiree fundraising event. This year, LVSC and the Somerset County Library System are pleased to present "Fall for Literacy." On October 25, 2019 the library will be transformed after-hours into a fall festival. Guests will laugh out loud with the improvisational comedy of The Improvables, while savoring a light supper and dessert.
We are seeking an (amateur) Event Photographer to take pictures of the event.

Mission Statement
The mission of Literacy Volunteers of Somerset County is to promote literacy in Somerset County through student-centered tutoring for adults. Our mission is founded on the belief that the ability to read and comprehend at a functional level is fundamental to the quality of life, essential for the protection of individual freedom, and necessary for ensuring the equality of all people. We are committed to accomplishing this mission by: * Training volunteer tutors in the fundamentals of basic literacy instruction which includes reading, writing, listening, and speaking. * Providing tutors with ongoing mentor support and in-service skills development programs. * Locating and recruiting functionally illiterate students. * Creating and maintaining collaborative tutor-student matches. * Helping students to establish and to reach realistic personal goals. * Promoting student self-sufficiency.
Description
Since 1981, Literacy Volunteers of Somerset County has been providing providing free, confidential one-to-one and small group literacy tutoring for adults. In addition to our cornerstone tutoring program, today we also offer free English Conversation Groups and U.S. Citizenship Preparation classes.

- 2 hours. We would like to have pictures of our speakers, the comedy group and candid shots.
