Companion Volunteering can make hospital stay less lonely for elderly patients and the ones with no family." You will enjoy spending time with patients who have few or no visitors helping to ease the loneliness and isolation that can accompany hospital stays." If you are compassionate and want to share your time and give the gift of companionship please contact us we could use your talents.
Requirements
Must be willing to commit to at least one day per week for a few hours.
Complete a volunteer application, orientation and pass a state background check. Application form and must have a TB skin test done and annual Flu Shot on acceptance of position - courtesy of the LewisGale Medical Center.
Plan to attend required in-service training, twice a year.
Abide by all rules and regulations of the organization.
