During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
We are in need of volunteers throughout the entire trail system. There are a number of roles people can perform:
Ranger:
The Ranger Program allows volunteers to patrol the trails at a pace suitable to their own schedules. Rangers provide simple routine trail maintenance while patrolling. Orientation is required.
Maintenance Team:Maintenance team members perform regular maintenance on the trails. Members must be able to drive, to run power equipment and perform light lifting. Training is provided and required.
Adopt-a-Segment:Adopt-a-Segment members perform regular maintenance on a segment or adopted trail year round. Segment adopters require a commitment to on-going and regular maintenance. Members must be able to drive, use power equipment, and do light lifting. Training is provided.
Maintenance and/or Clean-up Days:This is a great way for volunteers to help Cardinal Greenways for a day or for a short term. Individuals, groups and organizations are welcome. Volunteers are contacted as needed.
Events:Event volunteer duties include traffic control, registration, marketing, logistical assistance, refreshment preparation, greeters, guides, and more. Cardinal Greenways’ events are typically one or two days in length. Pre-event preparation work can range from several hours to several days. Volunteers choose their own level of involvement. Training is provided.
Programs:Programs include youth hikes, bike excursions, and various educational and recreational programs. Volunteer commitment may range from a few hours to a few days, depending on the activity. Volunteers are also needed to create and plan programs.
Office or Clerical Assistance:Office or clerical duties include filing, data entry, and more. This type of volunteering offers a very flexible schedule and time commitment.
