ATTENTION VETERANS

A terminal diagnosis can be a lonely experience for anyone, but for a veteran that diagnosis can present unique issues. At a time when understanding is needed most, many veterans find themselves isolated even from family and friends. You can help end that isolation by becoming a Veteran to Veteran Hospice volunteer. Who better to support to those patients at the end of life than another veteran?

Rockingham VNA & Hospice is offering a comprehensive Veteran to Veteran Hospice volunteer training beginning on September 9 and continuing each Monday from 9:00am-12:00pm through October 28, 2019. There must be a minimum of 5 people registered for the training to be held.

Classes will be held at Rockingham VNA & Hospice 4 Alumni Drive Exeter, NH 03833.

To register or for more information: Call Martha Carlson, Hospice Volunteer Coordinator, 772-2981 or 800-540-2981 ext. 8949

Description

Rockingham Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice, has been caring for individuals and their families since 1905. Our agency now serves patients in Rockingham and Strafford Counties. Our Hospice program is a comprehensive, team-oriented approach to care that seeks to treat and comfort terminally ill patients and their loved ones. Hospice is a philosophy accepts death as a natural part of life, seeking neither to hasten death nor to prolong life. As important members of the Hospice Team, Hospice volunteers provide comfort, companionship, and respite for hospice patients and their caregivers. Hospice volunteers go through a comprehensive 8 week training course which covers all aspects of Hospice care, enabling volunteers understand practical, psychosocial and emotional factors involved in working with patients at the end of their lives and their families.
