Judge for the 68th Annual SARSEF Regional Science and Engineering Fair and make students proud of their science! This fair showcases the work of over 5,000 young scientists and engineers in Southern Arizona. Together, they win over $125,000 in scholarships and prizes donated by businesses, colleges, and community foundations. As a grand award judge at the Middle School level, you will evaluate projects, interview students, and weigh in on which projects will receive 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in a specific category along with your judging team.
Elementary and Middle School judging and interviews for the 2023 SARSEF will be held virtually over Zoom.
You will use our criteria modeled after the criteria used at the International Science and Engineering Fair to select winning projects and interview the students to learn more about their work and encourage them to continue pursuing their interests in science and engineering.
Qualifications:
Elementary school judges must have a high school education, with some experience with the age level selected, and/or interest in the field selected. Middle School judges should hold a bachelor’s degree, and have some experience in their field or teach in the selected area.
Sign up for the categor(ies) that you have the most interest and applicable experience. If you sign up for more than one category, we will assign you to the team with the highest need. If your preferred category is full, pease join the waitlist and sign up for a secondary choice in the meantime. Based on your category preference, we will assign you to a specific judging team at a later time.

Mission Statement
Our mission is creating Arizona’s future critical thinkers and problem solvers through science and engineering.
Description
Each year, more than 75,000 students throughout Southern Arizona create research projects at their own schools, with the goal of winning a spot at SARSEF. About 2,100 projects, representing more than 4,000 students, are chosen to compete at the TCC - and from there, we select the "best of the best" to honor. Over 400 judges and volunteers come down to help us choose the winning projects.
