Judge for SARSEF Regional Science and Engineering Fair and make students proud of their science! As a grand award judge at the Elementary School level, you will help reward the best and encourage the rest in science and engineering. All judging and interviews for the 2022 SARSEF will be held virtually.

Help select the best projects in a specific category by signing up as a "grand award" judge. Based on the information you provide in your judging profile, you will be matched to a particular category. You will use our criteria modeled after the criteria used at the International Science and Engineering Fair to select winning projects and interview the students to learn more about their work and encourage them to continue pursuing their interests in science and engineering.

Qualifications:

Elementary school judges must have a high school education, with some experience with the age level selected, and/or interest in the field selected. Middle School judges should hold a bachelor’s degree, and have some experience in their field or teach in the selected area. Judges at the high school level should be professionals in their fields (at least three to five years experience preferred) and/or be in the process of obtaining or hold advanced (master’s or doctoral) degrees.

Mission Statement

Our mission is creating Arizona’s future critical thinkers and problem solvers through science and engineering.

Description

Each year, more than 75,000 students throughout Southern Arizona create research projects at their own schools, with the goal of winning a spot at SARSEF. About 2,100 projects, representing more than 4,000 students, are chosen to compete at the TCC - and from there, we select the "best of the best" to honor. Over 400 judges and volunteers come down to help us choose the winning projects.
