About the Allies for Immigrants: ESOL Corps

Allies for Immigrants ESOL Tutor Corps is run in partnership by Boston Cares and English for New Bostonians. Allies tutors are a part of a network of volunteers who share a passion for enhancing English skills for adult learners. ESOL Corps tutors deepen their community engagement by committing to serve a minimum of twice a month through the Corps and attending skill building opportunities throughout the program year. All Allies for Immigrants ESOL tutors will need to complete and pass a CORI Background check.

During the orientation and training:

  • Volunteers will receive an overview of the Allies for Immigrants ESOL Corps

  • Volunteers will learn about the 9 ESOL program sites across the city, and become familiarized with their selected site

  • Volunteers who are new to Boston Cares will participate in a New Volunteer Orientation at 5:30PM; Current Boston Cares Volunteers arrive at 6:00PM
