1. Volunteer Purpose and Description

The purpose of our Cafe Assistant Volunteers are to be support for our staff with the daily operations of the Blue Palmetto Café.

Volunteer Café Assistants will have the opportunity to assist the by cleaning tables and dished, serving guests, acting as a host and more. Depending how much the volunteer learns, may be able to be trained on more specific roles in the operation of the Blue Palmetto Café.

1. Volunteer Shift and Selection

Shift Times and Days:

• The volunteer shift would be 11:00am to 2:00pm
  • The times coinside with the Café staff that you are assigned to work with for the day.
• Volunteer Days will work around the staff schedule, and will be set for Saturday or Sunday

Volunteer Requirments

• Volunteer must be able to work 9:00am to 5:00pm
• Volunteer must be comfortable following strict food safety guidelines
• Volunteer must be comfortable following Safety Data Sheet (SDS) protocals when working with cleaning and other chemicals
• Volunteer must be comfortable woking in all weather conditions,ie rain, heat, full sun, etc
• Volunteer must be able to stand and walk for the entirety of their shift
• Volunteer must be comfortable wearing cooking gloves during their shift
• Volunteer must wear slip resistant shoes
• Volunteer must wear pants

1. Volunteers May Assist

• Clearing tables
• Taking out the trash
• Cleaning dishes
• Making dressings
• Lettuce prep
• Dipping ice cream
