The Fargo VA Health Care System is looking to add friendly, caring, and dependable volunteers to assist Veterans on our hospital Transport Team.

Responsibilities of a Transport Volunteer include the following:
Provide transport service for all wards and clinics by escorting wheelchair-bound patients and residents to and from diagnostic, therapeutic, and treatment areas within the hospital. Assist the laboratory by picking up lab specimens from units and delivering to the lab. Assist pharmacy and oncology by delivering chemo to the infusion center. Assist the prosthetics department by delivering prosthetic devices to various outpatient clinics located within the medical center.

*Substitute (fill-in) volunteers are needed for this position at this time. Voluntary Service staff would call to see if substitute volunteer was able to fill in for a 4-hour shift with as much notice as possible (ideally at least 1+ day in advance). Shifts run from 8am-noon and from noon-4pm.

The Fargo VA has a 50 hour lifetime volunteer requirement, and all volunteers must pass a background check, submit to a TB test, and obtain a flu shot prior to volunteering.
