Lazos De Amor International and Occasions By Criselda are hosting the City of Boston’s First Annual Family Gala. It will be April 13, 2019 from 4-8 PM at 2300 Washington Street, Boston Ma.

We are looking for fun, creative volunteers to help us put on the First Annual Family Gala. We will need all hands on deck to ensure that the event runs smoothly, and the guest feel like royalty.

The Family gala is being held in honor of the families of Boston. We wanted to create a space where entire families could come together, to an elegant setting at an affordable price.

We want families to enjoy this event in their community. We understand the different family dynamics that Boston consist of and we want highlight this, and celebrate it. We want to provide equal access to families who are homeless and experiencing hard times, by providing resources like gala clothing.

This will be a great opportunity for all Boston Families, and we are looking for the best volunteers to make this happen.

Volunteer Opportunities

Outreach Volunteers : Are you a social media wiz? Help us spread the word! Volunteer your social media time and share our post. We have received a lot of feedback via social media. An ideal volunteer in the Outreach department would be savvy in all social media platforms and also be able to help generate and maintain a buzz.

Receiving of Materials at the Event Volunteers: We are looking for volunteers who are able to get materials from Washington Street Boston Ma to the 2nd floor via elevator and manual moving equipment. Please be able to lift at least 30-50 pounds.

Decorating and Setting up Volunteers: We are in search of people who are able to put on table linens, chair covers and chair sashes. Ideal volunteers will be able to follow a specific description and be able to dress tables and chairs.

Catering Materials/ Organizing and Set up Volunteers: We are in need of volunteers who will be able to receive materials the day of the event and place them in designated areas. Volunteers will ensure that tables have a tablecloth and table skirt and are ready for the catering materials. Lastly, volunteers will set up catering materials as indicated by the plan.

Lead Vendor Volunteers: The Family Gala is collaborating with many vendors and we want to ensure that they are well supported throughout the event. The "Ideal" volunteer will be able to serve as the point person for their designated vendor.

Vendors: Occasions By Criselda, Ana Caro, JoMe Dance School, Dessert Project Donations, Photo, Video, KBK Sports, Live Entertainment, Count Down to Kindergarten, DjPoloKing.

Audio Volunteers: We are in search of volunteers who know their way around a soundboard, have basic computer knowledge and will be able to assist with any audio technical difficulty that may arise. We will have a DJ and an MC, so we will need someone who understands how to use microphone and be on set for any needed audio related assistance.

Visual Volunteers: We also are in need of volunteers who are able to work with photographers and/or videographers, to ensure that they are supported throughout the night; by way of adjusting guests in photos, holding props, etc.

Dance Volunteers: We are in search of volunteers who are willing to get out there on the dance floor and display their best moves. We want volunteers who will make the event a time to remember for the families attending.

Food Services - Prep/Serve/ Break Down Volunteers: We are looking for fun/friendly volunteers to assist in prepping, serving and break down the catering materials.

Trash Patrol Volunteers: A major portion of the building agreement is to keep the area we are utilizing in tiptop shape. We need volunteers who can continuously do rounds in the area, to ensure guest are fully utilizing the trash dispensers. Please be able to lift at least 20-30 pounds.

Bathroom Patrol Volunteers: We want the guest to feel like royalty. We need volunteers who could serve as bathroom attendants. Bathroom attendants would be responsible for offering napkins and other bathroom goods provided for in bathroom goodie basket.

Breakdown/Transport Volunteers: We need volunteers who are able to break down the decoration and catering materials and pack them up. We also need volunteers who are able to transport materials to a centralized location.

Walk a Family Back to their Cars Volunteers: We are looking for volunteers to walk families to their cars that will be parked in the surrounding areas.

Parking Director Volunteers: We are in search of people who will direct people into the areas where the guest are allowed to park.
