Heartland Hospice is looking for kind-hearted individuals who would like to make a difference in the lives of our hospice patients and their families. In particular, we are searching for veterans to connect with patients who have served in the military. Veterans share a common language and share a unique bond. Our veteran patients would love to have a friendly visit from someone they can share their experiences with.
Some necessary traits of a hospice volunteer are:
- Compassionate/empathetic
- Good listener
- Patient
- Reliable
Special talents such as music, writing, and craft-making are always appreciated as well. Volunteers must be 18 years of age and have reliable transportation. If you have a couple of hours every week to spare, we would love to hear from you! Training will be provided.
Please call 505-323-1464 and speak with Jessica if you are interested in being a part of our veteran-to-veteran volunteer program!
