Mission Statement
The Portsmouth Senior Activity Center is a vibrant hub for adults ages 50+ focusing on healthy aging. Together we embrace the power of aging and provide a facility that can support and empower the aging population of Portsmouth.
Description
As part of the City of Portsmouth's Recreation Department, the Senior Activity Center provides programs and activities Monday - Friday 9:00am-3:00pm. We focus on activities that offer fitness, enrichment, socializations, entertainment, and resources. The Drop in Lounge is open for free coffee/tea, wifi, and conversation. In a typical week people can enjoy yoga, line dancing, tai chi, scrabble, mah jongg, art class, Bone Builders weight class, Strength and Balance class, movies, clubs, Zumba...and much more. We also go out to eat and have a monthly senor luncheon. Plus we offer an adventure club program where we rock wall climb, snow shoe, kayak, walk, play at the beach, and more.
We strive to be an age-friendly community open to serving the needs of a growing aging population. What would you like to do? We're up for it. That's why we need volunteers:)
