Disaster Response Team Workshop Disaster Response Team Workshop - Simulation

Heart to Heart International is hosting our Disaster Response Team Workshop in Excelsior Springs, MO this March at the Lake Doniphan Conference and Retreat Center. This workshop is the final step in our volunteer vetting process. Volunteers who successfully complete this workshop will be ready to deploy to disasters around the world and bring healthcare to those impacted. We will be teaching various sessions throughout the workshop, concluding in a disaster simulation where the attendees will be tested on the information they have learned throughout the week.

In order to pull off a successful simulation, we will need 44 individuals of all ages to assist us. Simulation volunteers would be needed from 12:45 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 30th. Lunch will be provided. You will be responsible for transportation to and from the retreat center. This a great opportunity for our local volunteers to get a firsthand experience of what Heart to Heart Disaster Response Teams do in the field.

Volunteers will meet at a park in Excelsior Springs, receive lunch and be briefed on the role that you will play during the simulation. Then, we will drive to Lake Doniphan to complete the simulation. Following the simulation, we will be hosting a debrief and would appreciate anyone who can stay to give feedback and observations.
