Volunteer at an American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk and be behind-the-scenes at an exciting community event that raises awareness and funds to end breast cancer. Making Strides events celebrate and honor breast cancer survivors and caregivers; educate the public about prevention and detection to reduce risk of the disease; and raise funds to help end breast cancer. People walk as individuals or on teams with family, friends, and coworkers. Event volunteers help with registration, logistics, and participant support.

We request help from volunteers throughout the year to spread our mission through the following areas: designing and creating the event experience, connecting corporate and local businesses, collecting and securing donations from local businesses, and marketing the event around town!

For the day of the event, volunteers will be notified in advance of their designated parking area. Volunteers will receive a volunteer t-shirt (while supplies last). Volunteers are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes, dress in layers, lift between 20 to 25lbs, and bring sun protection. Volunteers are also asked to attend a volunteer training.
