Math Tutoring The aim of this program is to help promote a positive experience of learning mathematics and to develop a sound foundation of basic math concepts. Understanding that our children will vary greatly in individual abilities and challenges in comprehending math, we combined multiple approaches which utilize multi-sensory teaching. The program includes activities that apply the student’s learning experience from the classroom to the real world. Recommended for ages 3 to adults.
Each child learns and develops math skills at his/her own pace. The GiGi's Math Tutoring program builds a foundational skills in these main areas:
- Number Sense and Counting
- Addition and Subtraction
- Multiplication and Division
- Math in the Real World: Shapes, Fractions, Measurement, Time, Money, Data & Categories
Each tutor is matched with a student based on the tutor's and student's availability. Tutors meet weekly (15 weeks) with the same student for 45-60 minutes at GiGi's Playhouse.
No prior experience is required. Tutors receive training with our Math Coordinator. We provide all supplies and materials.
