The volunteer coordinator works with the Bark For Life Event Lead and American Cancer Society staff partner to recruit and organize/manage volunteers to help with event set-up, day-of activities, and event clean-up.
SPECIFIC TASKS & EXPECTATIONS INCLUDE:
- Recruit volunteers through various techniques (reaching out to volunteer groups, positing volunteer opportunities on various websites, social media, etc.).
- Contact all potential volunteers and collect information on their availabilities and skills. Arrange for appropriate training where needed.
- Produce schedules for volunteers.
- Communicate frequently with volunteers to ensure they are satisfied with their opportunity and feel "in the know."
- Disseminate information for upcoming actions and event.
- Keep detailed records of volunteers’ information and assignments.
- Be on-site for event set-up, day-of event, and event clean-up (details TBD) to check volunteers in, show volunteers where they need to go, and explain their tasks.
- Attend committee meetings approximately once per month (exact meeting schedule TBD).
