Help your community get back to work by working one-on-one job seeker to update a resume, write cover letters, search and apply for jobs online, and practice interviewing!
This volunteer opportunity is available Monday - Friday at our headquarters in Silver Spring as well as our two DC offices. We are looking for volunteers who can commit weekly to at least one 2 hour time slot. Training will be provided.
Volunteers should have a minimum of five years of professional experience and be familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Internet search engines. Speaking another language is not required, but we are particularly seeking volunteers who are fluent in Spanish, French, Amharic, and Tigrinya.

Description
A Wider Circle is a 501(c)(3) grassroots nonprofit organization that provides holistic support to families in need. We furnish the homes of children and adults who are transitioning out of domestic violence or homeless shelters, or who are simply living without what most of us take for granted - beds, dressers, sheets, towels, and other basic need items. We offer educational programs on topics ranging from job skills and money management to stress management and other life skills. We also provide wrap-around support to those seeking to enter or re-enter the workforce, including professional attire, education, and one-on-one support. We work with the most vulnerable among us, and we do whatever we can do to help them move toward stability and independence.
