The Family Housing Network has a Day Center where prescreened families can relax, search for jobs, do laundry, cook, and shower. It is a wonderful space for our families! We are in need of volunteers to work 2-hour shifts (or longer) during the week. The volunteers may help with light housework and cleaning and/or possibly help with paperwork or organizing. Volunteers will also greet guests, answer phones and complete prescreens. Having volunteers in the Day Center will allow the staff to do more focused work such as meeting 1:1 with clients. Volunteering at the Day Center isn't always lively, so we recommend that volunteers bring something to keep themselves busy in case things are slow. The role of the volunteer is rewarding and priceless!

Mission Statement

FHN'S mission is to support families experiencing homelessness in order for them to achieve sustainable self-sufficiency in a timely and dignified manner. We provide a full range of emergency and stabilizing services needed by our guest parents and children, in collaboration with a diverse set of faith communities and partner agencies.

Description

Family Housing Network of Fort Collins has five core programs which address the range of needs of families along the continuum from homelessness to sustainable self-sufficiency. During intake, parents work with our Shelter Case Manager to identify eligibility for each program, and develop a plan to most effectively achieve independence. Throughout each week, they continue to meet with our Shelter Case Manager to brainstorm, trouble-shoot, and ensure progress toward goals. We collaborate with over 20 local and state partner agencies to address the range of needs of our guest parents and children.
