Volunteers will join Ellanor C. Lawrence Park staff to work on much needed restoration of surrounding natural areas. This project can use anywhere from 5-25 volunteers. The work accomplished through volunteers will be a tremendous help to beautify the park. Volunteers will remove non-native invasive plants to protect and give native species a chance to thrive. Non-native invasive plants overrun native vegetation, reducing habitat and biodiversity. Volunteers will pull or cut invasive plants in the natural areas using tools, such as Weed Wrenches, saws and loppers. Invasive plants to be removed include bush honeysuckle, autumn olive, multi-flora rose and others.
