Engaging Youth in the Urban Forest Workshop

Are you passionate about trees, the environment, and education? Do you enjoy working with kids? Then join us on March 16th, as we welcome guest speaker Andra Yeghoian, the Environmental Education Coordinator for the Environmental Literacy Initiative at San Mateo County Office of Education. Learn about the concept of "environmental literacy" and the landscape of environmental education in San Mateo County. Following the presentation, you will have the opportunity to prepare as an education volunteer with Canopy, exploring the wonderful world of trees through hands-on science lessons with elementary, middle, and high school students.

We envision a day when every San Francisoc mid-peninsula resident can go outside and walk, play, and thrive under the shade of a healthy trees.

As a small organization, we depend on passionate volunteers to help us make a big impact through tree planting, tree stewardship, and environmental education.

Come join us, and help us grow the urban forest in Palo Alto, East Palo Alto, and surrounding areas -- because healthy trees create healthy communities!
