Students of the Year is a signature Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) philanthropic leadership development program during which high school students foster professional skills such as entrepreneurship, marketing, and project management. During the program students raise funds for LLS in honor of a young patient hero. The Students of the Year Grand finale is the final event of this program and where the student who raised the most funds will be revealed and awarded the title of "Student of the Year."

We will need about 15 amazing volunteers to help in various volunteer positions during the SOY grand finale event. Some of the areas we will need help with are set-up, greeting guests, monitoring a silent auction, and event breakdown.

The Student of the Year Grand Finale will be held on Saturday, March 9th at Steinbrenner Field in Tampa. Thank You!

Mission Statement

The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. We work tirelessly to find cures and ensure patients can access the lifesaving treatments they need. When someone experiences the fear and uncertainty of a blood cancer diagnosis, we provide hope, compassion, education and support. Our impact is felt beyond blood cancer. The breakthrough treatments we helped advance for blood cancers are now improving the lives of people affected by many types of cancer.

Description

Volunteers are our partners in the crusade to end cancer.

In 2017, LLS volunteers made a significant impact while selflessly dedicating their time and talent to achieve our mission. With countless ways to engage, from fundraising to providing patient support, our volunteers are changing the landscape of cancer.

The chapter serves the Charlotte, Citrus, Desota, Hardee, Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas and Sarasota counties.
