Volunteers planting Atlantic white cedar trees

Join the National Aquarium's Conservation team-in partnership with The Nature Conservancy and the Chesapeake Bay Trust-to plant Atlantic white cedar trees, a vulnerable species in Maryland, at Nassawango Creek Preserve on Saturday, March 30, 2019 from 9 am to 2 pm. The 15-square-mile preserve, located in Snow Hill, Maryland, comprises wetland and upland habitat and is home to 60 species of migratory birds and various rare plant species.

This planting is part of an ongoing restoration effort through the Aquarium's Atlantic white cedar program, which encourages students in Worcester and Somerset counties to become environmental stewards through hands-on opportunities to care for trees on their school grounds.

Pre-registration is required for this event at www.aqua.org/conservation-events. Volunteer space is limited and registration will close when the event is full. Participants must be at least 10 years old. All volunteers under 18 must be supervised by an adult.
