Animal Place is a 600-acre farmed animal sanctuary located in Grass Valley, CA. We believe in a mission based on compassion and kindness for all beings and would love to share our mission with you as a new volunteer! We are currently seeking volunteers to help in a variety of departments, including animal care, education, events, and tour assistance. Volunteers are needed year-round and we are currently finalizing dates for our monthly new volunteer orientations for March-December. If you would like to lead a life of compassion and help our over 500 animal residents, we would love to have you! Thank you so much and we look forward to seeing you soon!
*Since Animal Place practices compassion for all beings, we ask that you please refrain from bringing any food on sanctuary grounds that includes meat, dairy, or eggs.

Description
Founded in 1989, Animal Place is one of the oldest and largest sanctuaries for farmed animals in the United States. As an animal rights organization, we promote the complete protection of farmed animals and a vegan lifestyle. There are two facilities: a 600-acre sanctuary in Grass Valley, CA that serves as a permanent safe haven for farmed animals as well as an education center and a 12-acre Rescue & Adoption facility in Petaluma, CA.

REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 18
- Orientation or Training
- We require a time commitment of two shifts per month (shifts range between 2-4 hours each, depending on the department).
- Barn cleaning shifts require some lifting (up to 25lbs) and light manual labor (cleaning in animal habitats). All department shifts require a desire to work with and for animals and the ability to work well with other volunteers and staff.
