If you are compassionate, caring, loving and have a calling to help others, becoming a Hospice Volunteer might be the perfect opportunity for you. Our volunteers give their time, talent and hearts generously and unselfishly - yet commonly feel that they receive more than they give. Some of our volunteers have experienced hospice care through a loved one. Others use their giving hearts to serve and touch a life in its final chapter. Volunteers can assist with a variety of activities - from listening, visiting patients, providing grief support, to making items for comfort or many other behind the scene activities.
Compassus is currently looking for administrative volunteers to help the office staff in our Bedford location. Ways to help include:
- Typing, filing, and other light office work
- Sending birthday cards, sympathy cards, and bereavement notes
- Assisting with community workshops
- Coordinating support services

The Nashville, Tennessee-based company was founded in 2006, but its roots in hospice reach back to 1979. Today, the company operates more than 165 hospice, palliative and home health programs in 30 states across the U.S. The mission of Compassus is to honor life and offer hope to individuals facing serious or terminal illness by supporting them with a common culture focused on three core values: Compassion, Integrity, and Excellence.
