Join us and help us raise money for our animals at our second annual Pints for Paws Craft Beverage Festival!

This new festival features local craft breweries and other local craft beverage makers coming together in one, all-Durham event.

Last year, for the first Pints for Paws, we had a BLAST at Northgate Plaza. This year, we're excited to be in Durham Central Park on Sunday, April 14 from 12-4PM.

Duty descriptions are below, and keep in mind: bartenders serving beverages must be 21+.

Duty Descriptions

Set Up: Help ensure the festival is set up for the vendors - tents, tables, chairs, donation jars, registration lines, vendor booths, volunteer check in station is ready, signs are hung, etc.

Volunteer Check In: Check in each volunteer, provide them with a t-shirt, wristband, point them to their lead (probably me) to get to work.

Vendor Check In: Ensure each vendor gets checked in by business and name, provide them with a wristband, and show them to their designated area (according to the map).

Admissions: Check IDs, affix wristbands, check bags, check leashes.

Bartender: MUST BE 21+ help beverage vendors as needed; 2 volunteers per vendor to pour samples of beverages.

Hospitality, Hydration, and Parking: Refill dog bowls, empty trash cans, exchange leashes (if folks bring flexi-leads), direct guests to restrooms, first aid, lost and found, trash cans, etc.
With the venue change, we will likely also need a few people stationed to direct people to parking and to the event entry.

Clean-Up Crew: Clean up after the event. Last year, lots of free beer was involved in clean-up as the vendors emptied their kegs for us, just FYI :)

APS Info Booth and Sales: Provide a friendly face and information about APS, sell branded merchandise.

Dog Handler: (see above)

Agility Obstacle Assistant: Behavior team volunteers-look for an email from Julie Handy about these roles.

You’ll receive more information in the weeks leading up to the event, including parking info for volunteers, and other important information.

If you have never worked an event with APS before, that is okay! We would love to have you, and we will train you as needed at the event itself. Just come ready for a fun day raising money for the animals of APS!
