We are looking for exceptional people to help mentor Club kids ages 5-14. We need help in a lot of different areas. We are looking for help with academic enrichment programs, STEAM activities, technology, reading, music, sports, cooking, and character leadership programs.

Flexible schedule, but looking for a two hours commitment on a weekly basis for 6 month period.
As a mentor, you will:

Share a willingness to share skills and expertise
Positive attitude and reliability
Value ongoing learning
Provide guidance and constructive feedback

Description

Established in 1963, BGCV meets the needs of youth ages 5-18 regularly at five program sites serving youth residing primarily in Vista and Oceanside, California. BGCV is open "when kids need us most" - after school, on most school holidays and during the summer. BGCV offers safe places just for kids where they can learn, grow, and succeed.

Club programs help Club members build healthy habits for life and how to be resilient leaders through mentorship, accountability while developing a growth mindset.

Club programs include:

  • Education: Career Launch, STEM, music and homework assistance and literacy practice
  • Health and Wellness: health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement and a Children’s Food Garden
  • Leadership and Service: leadership development opportunities for youth.
  • Sports and Recreation: comprehensive sports and recreational fitness programs.
