ORGANIZATION: Heartland Hospice

Volunteer Hands

Heartland Hospice is looking for kind and caring licensed professional beauticians to pamper hospice patients living at home, long term care and assisted living facilities throughout Traverse City and surrounding areas. Pampering can include: gentle shampoo, cut, set and style; filing, polishing or buffing nails, or helping with makeup.

Help us improve the self image of our patients in their final days when they are unable to get to a salon. A copy of your license will be needed. ALL volunteers must attend orientation to gain the knowledge you will need to work with terminally ill patients.

You can donate as much or as little time as you desire.

ProMedica Hospice Mission Statement The mission of ProMedica Hospice is to provide quality Hospice care to patients with a limited life expectancy, as well as, provide support to their caregivers. The quality of life for those we serve is enhanced through palliative and specialized supportive care designed to meet the physical, psychosocial, social, and spiritual needs of the patients and caregivers. Hospice care is provided by using an interdisciplinary team utilizing an approach to the care delivered to patients either in their own home or extended care facility; working cooperatively with area health care providers and other community resources. ProMedica Hospice strives to provide care to all who are eligible and need Hospice care irrespective of ability to pay.
