Are you looking for a Pet Therapy volunteer opportunity that is flexible? As an Angels Grace Hospice Pet Therapy Volunteer, you can plan your visits to our patients at a time and day that is convenient for you. We are looking for people who would like to make short friendly visits to hospice patients in the Bridgeview area. These visits take place in area nursing homes or assisted living facilities. Hospice patients have a terminal illness with a prognosis of 6 months or less. Must be at least 18 years of age. You and your pet must have Pet Therapy Certification and updated shots record. If you don't have a certified pet, we can't use your help as a Pet Therapist - but we would love to have you visit patients on your own! Thanks.
Background check, drug screen, and 2-step TB test are all required, and are all paid for by Angels Grace Hospice. Training provided.

Mission Statement
The mission of Angels Grace Hospice is to provide physical, emotional, social and spiritual support to terminally ill patients, as well as their families and loved ones, while helping patients and families to live with dignity and comfort.
Description
Angels Grace Hospice is a new, locally owned and operated organization which is licensed in the state of Illinois. Angels Grace is dedicated to providing excellent care when a life-limiting illness no longer responds to curative treatments. Hospice care is provided in the patient's home, family member's homes, long-term care facilities and hospitals. The patient's and the family's medical, social, emotional and spiritual needs are addressed by a team of hospice professionals and volunteers.
Volunteers are the heart of hospice, and make a difference not only to the patients and their families, but also to the hospice staff. Volunteers can provide caring companionship and support directly to patients and family members, or indirect care, such as administrative assistance in the hospice office.
