Start your Fourth of July with a bang by volunteering in the 40th annual Excelsior Firecracker Run! The 4th of July Excelsior Run is organized through Minnetonka Community Education and the Excelsior Chamber of Commerce. We have three race distances including the 1 mile, 5K and 10K, touring the scenic terrain of historic downtown Excelsior and Lake Minnetonka. Runners of all ages get a chance to take part in this great community event.
Without the help of our wonderful volunteers, the 4th of July Excelsior Run would not be possible. Our volunteers help with registration and packet pick-up, parking, and directing the runners on the routes (corner guards). We are in need of volunteers and are able to offer short shifts to ensure you can get back before your Fourth of July events begin. All volunteers also receive an event staff t-shirt.
