We'd love some help creating some Dr. Seuss/reading-themed decorations that will help the inside and outside of our community library, located in Mayor Wright Homes public housing, feel extra-festive and welcoming.
We will be celebrating Dr. Seuss's Birthday/Read Across America Day on Friday, March 1st. We are expecting a bunch of our wonderful kids and friends to visit for an afternoon of celebrating reading and stronger literacy skills!
Provided materials: cardstock, colored paper, paints, glue gun, ribbon, tapes, glitter spray, other assorted craft supplies, use of Cricut-type cutting machine, Dr. Seuss books for inspiration
Available Hours: Mondays-Fridays 9am-4pm
Our ideal candidate is:
- crafty and resourceful
- likes Pinterest/looking up creative ideas
- a supporter of greater literacy and reading
- excited to help bring to life the excitement of reading

Description
Hawaii Literacy was founded in 1971 to tutor adults in basic reading and writing skills and hep them achieve their goals for a better life. Hawaii Literacy provides the following services:
- Adult Literacy 1-1 Tutoring;
- two Family Libraries in Mayor Wright and Kuhio Park;
- the Bookmobile program serving 13 high need sites on the Wai'anae Coast; and
- English Language Learner classes at three locations.
