Widow Care is seeking dedicated individuals with a compassionate spirit to serve on our working board. As a grassroots organization, our board members are strategic volunteers who not only advise on governance, but who roll up their sleeves to help propel our mission forward. Are you interested in joining our energetic and inspiring board to make Montgomery County a supportive haven for widows and widowers?

We currently have 6 sub-categories within our organization which Board Members will assist with. These categories include marketing, outreach, fundraising, business development, event planning & community planning.

• The Marketing Board Member will assist in development, implementation & evaluation of the Brand strategy & marketing strategy, including campaigns, events, digital marketing, and PR.
• The Outreach Board Member will help to maintain a pipeline of qualified partners and assist with communicating our mission to potential and existing partners.
• The Fundraising Board Member will assist with organizing activities to raise funds or otherwise solicit and gather monetary donations or other gifts for an organization. They will also help to research and reach out to prospective donors to encourage contributions
  & develop goals and initiatives for raising money; refine initiatives to adopt strategies and campaigns that reflect the ideals of the company.
• The Business Development board member will help to create strong fundraising messages that appeal to potential donors, assist with the production of videography content, and evaluate the success of previous fundraising events.
• The Event Planning board member will assist with organizing details such as entertainment, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, promotional material etc.
• The Community Planning board member will communicate our mission to potential and existing constituents, network and reach out to widow(er)s on social media and in-person

We also welcome board members with other backgrounds, such as finance, law or other career paths, to join our mission to help widowed persons.
