Medical volunteers

We invite you to be part of the team of 1,500 volunteer licensed medical professionals who will provide medical expertise to 33,000 runners at the 2021 TCS New York City Marathon on November 3rd. You will meet great people, gain experience with event medicine, and be a part of the world’s largest marathon. You must be able to attend a medical orientation in advance of the event and to stay for the full duration of your assignment.

This position is for EMTS who are able to rapidly assess and transport runners who are in need of medical assistance. It requires proof of all appropriate licenses and certifications, which must be valid through race day.

Mission Statement

GIVING EVERYONE A REASON TO RUN

Running takes your body, mind, and spirit to a better place. The simple act of putting one foot in front of the other and moving forward can make you healthier, happier, and more confident.

Like the starting horn at a race, we want to be the "Go!" that gets people running for life. At New York Road Runners, it is our goal to give everyone on the planet both a reason to run and the means and opportunity to keep running and never stop.

Over the past 50-plus years, we have grown from a local running club to a global champion of the running movement. We are the world’s premier community running organization, and our efforts and events serve all runners and active individuals, from beginners to professional athletes: the young, the elderly, and the underserved of all abilities.

Today, we are known for all our world-class events--including the famed ING New York City Marathon--which attract and inspire more than 300,000 runners internationally, including 60,000 NYRR members. But we are equally committed to the runners of tomorrow, passionately providing youth programs that educate and motivate more than 100,000 kids in communities in New York City, across the United States, and around the world.

It is our unique nonprofit model, which teams contributions from corporate, foundation, and individual donors with earned income from our best-in-class events, that makes all our efforts possible.

Together with the help of all of NYRR’s members, supporters, participants, and partners, we're working hard to fulfill our mission of giving all people everywhere a reason to run. Today, tomorrow, and for life.

Description

In addition to almost weekly road races and fun runs, NYRR holds classes, group runs, safety programs, and clinics. Plus, NYRR is a great place to meet other runners and friends.
