** IN ORDER TO REGISTER AS A VOLUNTEER FOR THIS EVENT YOU MUST EMAIL MARY.OWENS@RALEIGHNC.GOV AND SHE WILL SEND YOU THE LINK.**

Event Description:
Join us on Saturday, April 13th for the City of Raleigh's fourth annual It's My Park and Trail Day. This annual day of service is held on the last Saturday of National Volunteer Week to promote volunteerism in City of Raleigh Parks.

The Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department has over 200 parks and 120 miles of greenway trails throughout the City. With thousands of users each day, our Raleigh Parks system provides a fun outdoor experience for all to enjoy.

We are seeking individuals of all ages to assist with picking up litter and cleaning up City of Raleigh parks, open spaces, greenway trails, dog parks, playgrounds, outdoor athletic fields and courts, and natural areas. Volunteers must be at least 12 years of age. Volunteers under the age of 15 will need a parent/guardian to accompany them.

For those volunteers interested in participating in a supervised park clean up, you can sign up at one of the following sites from 9am-10:30am.

  • Peach Road Park (911 Ileagnes Road)
  • Method Community Park (514 Method Road)

Volunteers are invited to clean up any City of Raleigh Park or greenway trail. If interested in cleaning up a site not listed above, please contact Mary Owens at mary.owens@raleighnc.gov to coordinate a non-supervised park or trail clean-up.

Volunteers will need to pre-register online and complete a volunteer release form. We do ask that all volunteers complete a short volunteer report to help us track number of volunteers, hours served, and any issues you may find while volunteering. All forms will be emailed to all registered volunteers prior to April 13th.

Group Registration Information: Registration as a volunteer is first come, first served. All volunteers must register as individuals, but if you are a part of a group, please list the group in the "Registration Notes" when signing up.

Per department policies, this volunteer opportunity is not to be used towards court-appointed community service hours.
