Part Time Unpaid Internship - Now through October 2019

Working in the Programming Department to ensure the filmmaking experience with the festival is top notch. This is a fast paced department that is willing to step in and help in any capacity.

Responsibilities:
Coordinate programming meetings and conference calls
Assist in programming monthly film event
Assist with general promotions related to programming
Assist with writing and organizing program content
Working to solicit films prior to the festival
The Filmmaker Liaison is the primary conduit between the foundation and the filmmaker prior to the festival
The Filmmaker Liaison will insure that the filmmaker's needs are met and that all terms agreed to are delivered in a timely manner
Working with filmmaker to insure all promotional materials are distributed fairly in the theater lobby
Meeting the filmmaker during the festival to insure they are having an excellent experience and are pleased with the exposure

Ideal Majors: Business, Communications, Film

Assist in the festival offices in Del Mar a couple half days per week. Be available for approx one festival event per month as well. As we get closer to the festival dates of Oct 15-20th, more time will be required. Please fill out intern application at sdfilmfest.com/internships

Description

Binge Watching for Film Lovers! The San Diego Film Festival is rapidly developing a reputation for premiering blockbuster films right here in San Diego. In 2012 we saw Silver Linings Playbook, Beasts of the Southern Wild and Quartet here long before they became box office hits. In 2013, we premiered 12 Years a Slave, The German, and August: Osage County. And last year it was The Imitation Game and Whiplash, which were honored with four Oscar wins and 11 nominations, plus Wild, Mr. Turner, St. Vincent, The Good Lie, We are looking for hundreds of talented, enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to plan, promote, and produce events and support our guests year-round and during the Festival (October 4-October 8).
