The Orange County Farmers Museum holds various events each month from May - October, these events are on Saturdays and Sundays and begin anywhere between 9 am - 11 am. The earned proceeds are the sole income that funds the museum's operational expenses.

The Orange County Farmers Museum is a 501c3 and is an all Volunteer Organization that does not have a paid staff.

During each season we have the following volunteer opportunities available to be sure our grounds and events are safe and visitors as well as event participants can make the most of their visits.

1. Lawn mowing on zero-turn mower and tractor with finish mower attached
2. Weed whacking
3. Grounds Beautification and Gardening: planting, weeding, and pruning
4. Museum Collection research and preservation
5. Building Maintenance
6. Social Media
7. Website Updates
8. Tractor Operator for pulling back the weight transfer sled during Antique Tractor Pulls
9. Scale Person to log the weight of the tractors during Antique Tractor Pulls
10. Flag Person on the track to indicate stop-and-go actions by the pullers
11. Hook Person, to hook the tractor to the weight transfer sled
12. Announcers, person(s) to announce the pullers and weight classes during the pull
13. Registration Table, person(s) to sign up pullers and collect fees
14. Concession Stand, person(s) to operate the cash register and take orders
15. Visitor Center Attendant, a person to greet visitors to the museum and learn about the Farmers Museum during their visit.
16. Tractor and other equipment repair person (experienced preferred but can train with basic engine knowledge)

Experience is not required we will train.

We offer a fun and friendly environment with many volunteer opportunities.

Mission Statement

The Orange County Farmers Museum operates in the public trust as a museum of service and interpretation in connecting objects and ideas relevant to the farming history of Orange County, New York. We believe that our agricultural equipment collections have the power to educate, inspire and transform individuals of all ages and the local community we serve.

Description

The Orange County Farmers’ Museum is a private, non-profit organization solely supported by donations, events and programs held on the grounds. In addition to our exhibits, the museum provides various educational activities for children and adults. With a special license to operate within a County Park the Orange County Farmers Museum is 100% staffed and operated by volunteers who dedicate over 2500 hours each season to offer the communities and those visiting with free events and activities that are suitable for the entire family.
